The World's Newest Banana-Lover

It's so much fun when your baby enjoys new foods. To say Joshua likes bananas would be a huge understatement. He tried to suck every last molecule of banana and cereal off the spoon! So far, here is the tally of good foods: bananas, apricots, pears, peaches, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and butternut squash. Avocados are just okay. Carrots are terrible.

Waving, Singing, and Batmen

This week, Joshua started waving at people! He started doing it at the Bible study nursery, but Mike and I saw it later that evening. It's so cute! Joshua is so friendly- so smiley with his two beautiful teeth, too. We really enjoy his sweet and happy personality.

Mike and I have noticed that our little music lover is singing now. Joshua has a good singing voice, even without singing specific words yet! He sang with a couple of the American Idol contestants this week and sings with us at home, too. Those children's songs (On Top of Old Smokey, BINGO, She'll be Coming Round the Mountain, Ole Susanna) are such fun to sing and play on guitar. We added a couple of special verses to She'll be Coming Round the Mountain in honor of my mom: She'll be wearing pink pajamas and She'll be wearing fuzzy black socks...

Last night, I heard Mike singing, "Nah, nah, nah, na Batmen!" in the living room while I was cooking dinner. When I peeked in, he and Joshua were sitting upside down on the couch with heads down, laughing. It was such a precious moment. Mike is so much fun and so sweet as a husband AND inventive and playful as a daddy, too. What a treasure he is.

Happy Easter!

I remember taking Easter photos last year with Mike and a beginning-to-show belly. It was wonderful celebrating the holiday as a trio this year! Joshua had his first Easter basket (yes, he enjoyed the packaging more than the toys). Next year, we plan to start the traditions we will have for him to grow up with: Bunny Rolls, more complete Easter baskets, and an egg hunt.
