Special Snuggly Moment

My favorite part of the day is playing with Mike and Joshua. After reading a few storybooks together and enjoying a meal, Joshua fell sound asleep on Mike's shoulder. Isn't this a precious sight?

Big Boy Booster Seat!

We are amazed thast Joshua is ready for the booster seat already! He loved sitting up at the table when we went out to eat last weekend, so we installed a booster seat at the kitchen table at home. Joshua likes sitting at the table with us as we eat. Okay, he likes sitting in his seat for half a meal and on a parent lap for the second half...

Super Seat

We went on a Bumbo hunt last weekend since Joshua enjoys sitting upright so much. Every Bumbo we saw was lilac, so we went to one of those baby superstores and found something even better. A Super Seat is like a Bumbo, but it has a larger tray with cool built-in toys (for the same price). Joshua enjoys the toys that are attached, but loves knocking down blocks that Mike & I stack on the tray. He knocks down blocks like Peyton Manning throws the football. He maintains eye contact with you, but knocks the blocks down by sweeping his arm sideways. Maybe he'll play quarterback someday...

The Hat Parade

We received or bought so many hats for Joshua, I thought it would be fun to take a picture of him wearing each one. As it turns out, Joshua really likes the hat game, especially when I pull off the hats. He thinks pulling off a hat is so funny!

Jumparoo

One of Joshua's favorite toys is the Jumparoo. He likes to bounce and even presses the button to play music now. I'm amazed at how strong his little legs are already.
Today was a big day. I took the 0-3 month clothes out of Joshua's dresser and put in the 3-6 month clothes. He is growing so quickly. We also looked at old family photos. It's amazing how much Joshua looks like the pictures of his sister Christi and Mike when they were the same age.

Diaper Genie Fan Club

Am I the only one who thinks that the inventors of the Diaper Genie are geniuses? This sleek, unobtrusive cylinder can be FULL of dirty diapers and a keen-nosed person like me can't smell them at all. The Diaper Genie and a vibrating chair are the two must-haves for having a baby (besides the obvious never-ending supply of onesies, diapers, and wipes).

Visit with Dana

Yesterday, Joshua and I drove to the Northside of Indy to visit my friend Dana and her daughter Samantha. We had a wonderful time talking and catching up. It was also fun to see Dana and Joshua bonding They are both fans of snuggling and laughing.Dana makes a delicious quiche, too...

First Trip to the Art Museum

We brought Joshua to the Indianapolis Museum of Art yesterday. Now that Joshua can go for walks in an umbrella stroller, we can manuver in crowds more easily. Not that I expected a crowd... I thought an art museum would be fairly empty at lunchtime on a Saturday. However, when you factor in the timing (end of the Christmas Break holiday), weather (ten degrees), and price (yes, it is free) many families had the same idea and the parking lot was packed.

We had a good time walking through the American art wing this time. We decided to look at different wings each time we go. I am still in awe of the Hudson River artists' paintings. They are so detailed, yet give such a sense of the wide majesty of undiscovered wilderness. Joshua liked watching people. Mike didn't pick just one artist or type of artwork as his favorite. We had a terrific time.
